15 Life Lessons from John Lennon

32 years ago, the world was shocked by the death of one of the world's greatest musician, composer, and The Beatles front-man John Lennon. We all remember him through his music, his "strawberry fields" and "Lucy in the sky" controversies with drugs, particularly with LSD, his unconventional romance with his wife Yoko Ono, his bed-ins for peace, his "Imagine"-nation for world peace, and a lot more. His legacy and memory will live on as long as there's music and as long as people believe in the power of music in uniting the humanity. Here are 15 life lessons John has left us through his music.

  • Life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans.
  • Time you enjoy wasting, was not wasted.
  • It doesn't matter how long my hair is or what color my skin is or whether I’m a woman or a man.
  • A dream you dream alone is only a dream. A dream you dream together is reality.
  • Reality leaves a lot to the imagination.
  • If someone thinks that love and peace is a cliche that must have been left behind in the Sixties, that’s his problem. Love and peace are eternal.
  • I get by with a little help from my friends.
  • You don’t need anybody to tell you who you are or what you are. You are what you are!
  • Count your age by friends, not years. Count your life by smiles, not tears.
  • There’s nowhere you can be that isn't where you’re meant to be…
  • One thing you can’t hide – is when you’re crippled inside.
  • Give Peace A Chance.
  • All you need is LOVE.
  • Imagine All The People, Living Life in PEACE.
