Rock Anthems for Independence Day

Freedom , as we all know, is a state of being free from restraint, external control, confinement, and interference. It also refers to having the opportunity to exercise rights and powers without restrictions (but bonded by laws of course). Independence, which is synonymous with the word freedom, connotes not only a lack of constraint but also the capacity to stand alone without the help of anything else. Today is the Philippines' 114th independence from the spanish colonization which was fought for by several national heroes Dr. Jose Rizal, Andres Bonifacio, and Gen. Antonio Luna to name a few. Because of their Courage, Patriotism, and martyrdom, we are now living in liberty and have the privilege to exercise our rights, power, desires, and self-expression. In time for the celebration of Philippine Independence, I am presenting eight Anthems that exhibit the gift of freedom, the spirit of independence, and the power of change.

1. Freedom - Alice Cooper
2. Freedom - Rage Against the Machine
3. Freedom - Jimi Hendrix
4. Chimes of Freedom - Bob Dylan
5. Free as a Bird - The Beatles
6. I want to break free - Queen
7. Heading out to the highway - Judas Priest
8. Highway to Hell - AC/DC

Disclaimer:  I'm not a music expert and this list is based only on my personal preference.
